It was a momentous year for WDN as the group came together for some very special events that gave an opportunity to see what clicked and what did not for the group and more importantly for each of the designers. Based on these shows the designers were energized and I believe you will see the creative juices flowing and new pieces being introduced by each of them in 2019. You will also see the WDN site evolving as the year progresses.
WDN hosted several Trunk Shows, did a Fashion Show at the newly developed Valley Rock Inn, located in all places Sloatsburg, New York. (Check it out… it’s amazing!) and a Pop-Up, hosted by WDN’s very own, Andrea Carrano in New York City. All were successful in varying degrees and for different reasons for each of the designers. That is what is so amazing about this group of women. Every experience is channeled into something positive.
All of the events benefitted several not-for profit organizations. A portion of sales are donated by the designers during these events. The most recent beneficiary was Counseling In Schools (CIS). This is an amazing not for profit organization that does a tremendous amount of work for children in the New York City Schools. This was a collaboration that fit beautifully with the goals of the WDN designers and is the type of organization that WDN wishes to support. Organizations that help women and children in need and they feel can have an impact. Check out the website for CIS, www.counselinginschools.org and I think you will be moved by what they do and the impact they can have particularly for the rising percentage of children that are homeless.
If you are reading this, it means that you are beginning to follow the WDN group and hope I that you will continue to look for us at the various events we are planning for 2019!
Would love your thoughts about WDN as well and we thank those that have supported us in 2018!
All the best for 2019!
